I am planning to buy a UGREEN 4 drive NAS, but now I am getting confused with all the different versions. There is the DXP4800, DXP4800 Plus, Pro and GT
I know they have different CPU and hardware, but which one is good for normal use – storing photos, backup, movies etc.
The DXP 4800 Plus and Pro has different CPUs, but should otherwise be identical. Both use DDR5 memory.

The GT uses an embedded AMD CPU which supports DDR4 memory, but it swaps the 2.5 Gbps port for a second 10 Gbps port. Its USB 3.2 Type-A ports also support 10 Gbps, which the Intel models don’t. It also supports U.2, but I doubt almost anyone will use this feature.
As for the rest, it really depends what you want from the hardware, but with the rampocalypse, the AMD model might be cheaper to upgrade the RAM on in the future.
Neither is really “better” as such, but where you will see some potential advantage of the Pro model is when it comes to running things like face detection or scanning for new things when you import a big video or photo library. It should also be a bit better for video transcoding if that’s something you’re planning on doing, but all of them are more than capable for the things you described that you would be using your NAS for.
