Hello.
I set up smb access on our network, and our MacOS computers could login fine.
Fast-forward a fortnight, and everyone can still login via the web interface, but not through SMB in finder. Authentication denied.
I haven’t changed anything on the NAS (DXP2800).
Please can someone suggest something I can try.

1. Clear Stale SMB Credentials from macOS Keychain (Most Common)
macOS often holds onto expired or corrupted SMB authentication tokens, causing Finder to send bad credentials automatically.
Open Keychain Access on your Mac (Cmd + Space \ search for Keychain Access or Passwords).
Search for your NAS IP address or hostname in the search bar.
Delete all stored key entries related to your NAS (e.g., smb://192.168.x.x or smb://UGREEN-NAS).
In Finder, press Cmd + K, enter smb://, and log in fresh with your credentials.

Navigate to Control Panel \ File Service \ SMB.
Toggle SMB Off, click Apply, wait 10 seconds, then toggle SMB On and click Apply (this restarts the underlying smbd daemon).
Thank you kbj911, that worked perfectly. I did both so I’m not sure which fixed it, but it’s fixed now, and your help is much appreciated.
