Backup DH2300 to external hdd falis

I tried several times to make a backup to an exteral usb hdd, using the sync & backup app, but with no luck.

Tried with both eXfat and ext4 on the hdd.

The progress show 100% but then it say the task failed.

I can se all the files I wanted to backup has been copied to the target hdd.

Anyone know what could be the cause for this?

Arne

If the files copied across, then the backup didn’t fail as such, but no idea why you get this error message, as I do weekly backups to an external USB drive and I’ve never seen that message, but I have a DXP4800 Plus. Maybe check with Ugreen’s support?

Thanks for the reply.

I will try Ugreen support

Seems like I had the problems, because there was 2 partitions on the ext. drive: exFAT and ext4.

According to Ugreen knowledge center, multi partitions on ext. drives must have a common MBR or GPT.

Now I formatted to only ext4, and backup works

I take it that you’re aware that this will make it harder to copy the data off the drive, in case you need the backup, right? That’s at least if your computer uses an operating system that isn’t Linux. My backupdrive is exFAT formatted for as wide compatibility as possible.

Yes. I choose ext4, because I only run linux on my computers
