Help connecting DXP2800

Hello. Can anyone help connect my DXP2800 to my Sky Broadband? It does not show up on the findugnas site, or on the app. None of the instructions or online tutorials are helping at all.

Sorry, but why would you want your NAS connected to your Sky Broadband?

I believe you’re mixing things up here and that’s most likely a big part of your problem.

First of all, I presume you have Sky hub (which is a router) of some kind? You need to connect your NAS to it via an Ethernet cable, to one of its LAN ports.

You might have to log in to your Sky hub and check that it has assigned an IP address to your NAS, as that seems to be the issue at the moment, as without an IP address, your NAS won’t show up in the app.

If you don’t know how to do this, I suggest you contact your internet provider, as most routers assign IP addresses automagically to whatever you plug in to them, which doesn’t seem to be the case here, assuming you’ve plugged it in right.

Beyond this, there isn’t much anyone can do to help you with the minimal information you’ve provided.

I did connect to the router with an ethernet cable, but the NAS dies not show up. I can access the settings on my hub, but I don’t know how to check if an ip address has been assigned.

I have no idea what the interface looks like in your router, but you should hopefully have some kind of a network map that shows you which devices are connected.

Otherwise, there might be some information under the DHCP settings.

I would suggest you assign a static/fixed IP for your NAS under the DHCP settings, so it always uses the same IP address.

Are the lights on the Ethernet port on the NAS on? There should be two blinking lights, otherwise the cable is either not inserted properly or damaged somehow.

Beyond this, there isn’t much I can do to help you.

It was a bad ethernet cable. Simple as that.
