I would like to raise an important feature request for UGREEN OS (UGOS): the implementation of “Files on Demand” in the NAS application.

This feature is essential for both professional and everyday users. It allows you to decide whether a file should be stored locally on your device or remain only in the cloud, while still being accessible instantly when needed.

Why is this important?

  • :floppy_disk: Saves local disk space — especially on laptops or SSDs with limited capacity.

  • :counterclockwise_arrows_button: Flexible file access — choose between offline availability or cloud-only storage.

  • :rocket: Improves productivity — no need to download everything, just access what you need.

  • :office_building: Competitive advantage — similar solutions already exist in OneDrive and Nextcloud, and bringing this to UGOS would make UGREEN NAS more attractive to professionals and businesses.

I believe this functionality would greatly enhance the adoption of UGREEN NAS devices and provide a smoother, more modern user experience. I am also available to test and provide feedback if a beta or experimental version becomes available.
