I keep seeing people say you should always run a UPS with a NAS, but i have never used one before. Is it a must ? what kind should I be looking at- USB or Network UPS ?
USB UPS is cheap and dead simple. Just hook it up to your Ugreen with the USB cable, do a quick config, and that’s it.
Oh yes NAS still has to be powered through the UPS( so you have to power it off and put the power through UPS power out) , but you already knew that part

Not mandantory, but it is recommended.
Your NAS is actually a small server , running on EXT4. EXT4 is a journaling filesystem, so your file metadata is protected, but if there is a power failure while a file is being written, you may lose the part or whole of file. Worse - it my trigger RAID inconsistency.
For all UGREEN models (except 6800 and 8800 which have bigger pwoer supply ), there is UGREEN US3000 UPS. Its msall, affordable, and Works great.
