Howdy, folks. New UGREEN user, trying to get up and running. I want to be able to access my NAS from outside my network when traveling and have been following the instructions below but I’m still having trouble getting the nginx proxy server to apply an ssl cert. I keep getting a “internal error” warning when trying to complete the process.
I suspect the issue is that my ASUS RT-AC5300 does things differently than the equipment used to create the guide I’m using. Apparently the ASUS router uses port 80 for its GUI, so the solution was to apply https: to the router which switches the GUI to :8443 and frees up port 80. However that seems to still not be working for me.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I have an SSL from a domain I host at Siteground that’s used only for email (different ports) that I could apply to the NAS, if that would get me to where I need to be.
PS - I’m running a DXP4800Pro, if that makes a difference.
Since then, Zoraxy has gotten a bit easier to use than it already was.
Zoraxy will pull the certs automagically for you, just note that there’s a limit on how many you can request per day, something I missed when I was messing around.
After more hours than I care to mention, it turns out my ISP blocks ports 80 and 443, so no amount of unblocking is going to help.
Can someone point to a guide for how to install Tailscale? I tried via Dockhand with a compose file and provided a key, but the containter keeps closing and restarting.
As a neophyte user, I’m not a ‘ix or networking guy, so any guide should assume I’m six years old and use little words.
Sorry, I run WireGuard straight on my router for the things I don’t want to expose at all towards the internet, so someone else will have to jump in and help here.
